i have no idea what kind of artist i am yet. i think.
Well, i've discovered that i prefer things to be 3D, or at least coming out of the canvas a little. And if that's not possible i like the effect that pencils give, though the rich colours of paint are incomparable.
I've so far been inspired by other walks of life and the diversity of my own. Although i have a specific idea or message to convey with my artwork, i prefer if there it to be a little obscure so there can be a whole range of interpretations from those who view it. I think art should grab attention or make people think or give a lasting impression.
But i don't know if there's a name for that kind of artist =P
impressionist? contemporary? not really sure.

Good start Holly- and the best place to be is where you are right now- knowing what you like, not limiting yourself by giving yourself a definite label, but with a passion for experimenting with media and techniques....I look forward to seeing lots of 'attention grabbing' art!

At the moment, I think I'm a very reserved artist. What I mean by that is that I like things very neat and organized, and I am scared of leaving my comfort zone because I'm not sure about how the outcome will look like. This is definitely something I need to work on and hope to improve in throughout these two years. I have decided to portray a neat side of me in my 3D self-portrait. However, I would like to do something unorganized and free, most probably with media that I am less familiar with such as crayons, oil pastels or chalk. This will represent the unorganized side of me. I also wish to portray a more feminine side of me by using colors like pink and purple (shown in the link below).

I think im a girl whos got her generated magical powers from her grand father. My grand father was an artist, it paid for his living and family and when i listen to all the amazing sculpturs and art work he has done and it is still admired in his memory. He's painted walls and portraits out of something as simple as coal in 10 minutes. he's someone i portray to be and to tell you the truth, im following his foot steps. He painted walls, thus i've done the same and as for his portraying skills, i still need to improve and practice. soo i think im a growing artist, who still needs to broaden her knowledge on being the simplest and the best or the most complicating and wacky artist. Truely, i see myself more interested in the terror displayed in art and the most detailed pursuing child. I enjoy sculpture work too especially when it shows people how crazzy i am to create something big and time taking.

Honestly, i'm not quite sure what kind of artist I am. This is the first time I have involved myself into anything related to art. But I do know, that I limit myself because of my fear of making mistakes and thinking how the outcome would look like. Although I do like experimenting with various things, the doubt of taking a step forward hinders me to fully develop my abilities.

I've always liked drawing, shading, and all that kind of stuff, and have attempted to practice myself in that area.

Whenever I am asked to do artworks, the first thing that I feel is that I want to convey the experiences in my life and all the things that I've learned that can never be found within the school walls to other people.

But most of all, i enjoy painting and drawing. The intricate details drive me to do my best. At the back of my mind, i've always wanted to make an artwork that would blow peoples minds. :>

I don't know what kind of artist I am, however I do know that I need a lot of work to help me develop as an artist. I need to experiment with my artwork and move away from being safe. Most of the outcomes that I have created are very neat and organized and have been planned out from the start. However in this piece that we are creating I think that I am moving into something different. I have changed the materials I'm gonna use; I'm gonna use plastic and mirrors. I also started creating my portrait without a clear idea in my mind; however I do hope that this piece will be different and free.

I feel that I am a growing artist that constantly looks forward to trying out new techniques. I love mixing different medias together in my art pieces and also love being inspired by everyday items around me. However, I definitely have to let go of having to plan every piece of artwork to precision before I start developing it, and maybe I will then learn that artwork will look better as it progresses stage by stage without a specific final outcome in mind. But i believe that even well known and established artists today are also constantly inspired by their surroundings and are therefore constantly growing to become even better artists...
